Josh Trager comes off as a pretty cool guy with serious chops — but not when playing big band jazz. Even the briliant Neil Peart couldn’t pull that off when asked to play Buddy Rich charts during a tribute performance to the great man. The reason for this is rockers don’t swing. It’s not in their musical genes. For them, a swing feel is unnatural. And, for we older players, it’s rather sad to see them even try.

It’s time for today’s rising stars to realize there are a few tricks they haven’t mastered. And for many, a swing feel is one of them.

Relaxed and playing from the heart always brings the best out of your inner playing , your own ability knows what it can and cant play , josh always looks relaxed in what he plays . great .
